The 66-acre Dallas Arboretum is one of the world’s premier gardens, and certainly one of the most colorful. Local residents have deemed this urban oasis to be the crowning jewel of Dallas. Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden- the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden was designed to connect children with nature. Education is a central focus of our mission, which is why we are delighted to be able to teach life and Earth science to both school children and their teachers as well as families. Enjoy 8 acres of fun overlooking the beautiful White Rock Lake. A Tasteful Place- this 3.5-acre, ornamental garden, pavilion and kitchen is inspired by the movement toward growing and eating fresh, sustainable, locally-grown food. Enjoy three free daily tastings made with seasonal produce, cooking demos and more. The Trammell Crow Visitor Education Pavilion- opened in 2003. The Trammell Crow Visitor Education Pavilion and Entry Plaza welcomes visitors to the breathtaking surroundings of the Dallas Arboretum. It always features a beautiful selection of whatever is seasonally in bloom. Margaret Elizabeth Jonsson Color Garden- designed by Naud Burnett II, the 6.5-acre Margaret Elisabeth Jonsson Color Garden features large, sweeping beds of seasonal flowers and plants. They have upcoming events and activities- Dallas Blooms: Birds in Paradise- Presented by Veritex Community Bank, Dallas Blooms runs February 19 to April 10. With the theme “Birds in Paradise,” the spring festival showcases an explosion of color from 100 varieties of spring bulbs, 500,000 spring-blooming blossoms, thousands of azaleas and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees. Highlights include four larger-than-life peacock topiaries, 500,000 spring blooming bulbs and a variety of themed programming, including bird talks, bird flight shows, demonstrations and more. Birds in Paradise- Named by Southern Living as one of “The Best Places to See Stunning Spring Blooms Across the South,” the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden presents Dallas Blooms, the largest annual floral festival in the Southwest.
